Expertise: Dr Donlan’s current research interests are comparative law, legal history, and legal theory. He is especially interested in (i) the interaction of legal and normative traditions and (ii) legal education. He has written on these topics, especially on ‘mixed’ legal traditions and ‘plural’ legal/normative orders, as well as on Edmund Burke (c1730-1797) and Irish history.
