King Faisal University is a public university located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. It was founded by the Royal Decree in 1975 in Alahsa city. KFU used to have two campuses however the other campus had just ripped off in 2010. KFU started with four colleges and now it has thirteen colleges.
KFU has around 35,000 students and more than 1379 faculty members. The newest colleges are the college of Computer Science, the College of Pharmacology, the College of Engineering and the College of Law. Most of the instructors in the new colleges are international and all of them are working full time.
KFU encourages both instructors and students to make new projects and participate in the Research. It provides a great financial support to them. In addition, faculty members are motivated to attend highly ranked conferences in their areas of interest.
Alahs is one of the important cities in Saudi Arabia. It is very close to the Arabian Gulf which includes Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab of Emirates, and Oman. It has a regional airport, and a train station that connects Riyadh (the capital city)to Dammam (the capital of the eastern province).
Alahsa is a traditional oasis region that produces more than 21,000 ton of dates annually. It has more than 30,000 farms that produce various kinds of vegetables and fruits. Also, it is a very old city that is known for historical places and events. It is only 35 minutes far away from Alugair beach.
