This position is a visitor to the College of Law filling a full-time, one-year temporary faculty position directing the College's Entrepreneurship Law Clinic at its Boise location. The Entrepreneurship Law Clinic is devoted to outreach to the startup and small business community in Idaho. It also serves as the base of administration for the PTO-sponsored Patent Pro Bono program for the State of Idaho and operates as a PTO Certified Trademark Clinic. There may be summer opportunities available for this position.
Applicants must have: (1) a J.D. from an ABA-accredited school or the equivalent; (2) a distinguished academic record; (3) a record or the promise of teaching excellence; (4) active membership in at least one state bar; (5) at least five years of post-J.D. practice or clinical teaching experience immediately prior to starting the position; and (6) never been publicly sanctioned in Idaho or any other state or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia.
Preferred qualifications include: (1) experience supervising and mentoring law students and/or junior attorneys; (2) experience advising startup and small businesses on a variety of legal issues (including entity formation, contract negotiation, and/or intellectual property protection); and (3) experience in trademark prosecution before the PTO.
