Visiting Assistant Professor of Law

Barry University School of Law seeks four (4) Visiting Assistant Professors of Law. These are full-time 9 month faculty positions teaching both day and evening division for the 2018- 2019 academic year. The primary purpose of a Faculty Professor, Law position is to instruct law students in the best way so as to provide the knowledge and ability for them to rise to become great and commendable lawyers.

Essential Duties

Teach 2 courses (6 credit hours) each semester; courses are delivered in classrooms on campus during two 13-week semesters.

Evaluation of student efforts through the preparation and grading of examinations. Meet with students during posted office hours.

Serve as faculty mentor to approximately 25 students to advise them on academic and personal/career matters.
Serve on a minimum of two Law School Committees.

Participate in various activities that support the academic life and mission of the Law School.
Conduct Scholarly research.


JD required

Experience in and demonstrated success in law school teaching with at least five years of relevant law-related employment.

Demonstrated ability to achieve excellence in teaching and in guiding and mentoring as to professional formation of students.

Commitment to the goals of the School of Law and its curricular and instructional methods and goals.
